Six Stitches for the Six Year Old!
Every year for Christmas Eve we go over to Grandma Cutler's to read the Christmas story, write a letter to Santa, and open a special gift from my mom. Our night was pleasant and pretty uneventful until our little Mckay wanted to see how silly we would look with a big Christmas bow on his head. As he propped himself up to look in the mirror he suddenly slipped and hit his chin on the bathroom sink. We knew instantly that he would need stitches so we headed on over to the emergency room.
Before...
After...
Mckay was a little nervous, but after a priesthood blessing and a little sedation he felt calm and was even smiling and laughing as he waited for the doctor. As we left the hospital that night we felt so grateful for the kind doctor, nurses, and receptionists that were willing to work on Christmas Eve. By the time we got home it was 12:30am and luckily Santa did not catch us staying out late!

What a fun filled December! I love all the great ideas we get from your fam!
Brave boy! I agree--many thanks to the people who still help us on Christmas Eve :) A friend just had their baby on Christmas day, so same thing. Glad Santa still came :)
Going to the emergency room is never really fun, but we're sure glad that Mckay is alright. Isn't it great that he could receive a priesthood blessing and be calmed? What a special gift Heavenly Father has given us to help us. Looking at all the other posts it looks like you guys had a great Christmas. Lots of family time and good wholesome recreational activities. May those things continue.
Wow, so crazy! At least he's still smiling after the stiches!!!
